I’m so glad you’re here, taking control of your fitness as a mum and woman - before, during and after pregnancy.

I’ve been where you are:

Jumping into the wrong exercise programme to lose my post-baby weight, only to feel frustrated with my lack of progress - and blaming myself for not being strong enough

Desiring a healthy lifestyle, yet finding myself eating whatever was left on the kids’ plates before rushing us all out the door to get to school on time

Thinking of the odd pedicure as ‘self-care’, when deep in my bones I craved a consistent workout routine to give me sustained energy throughout the week
Feeling alone, wishing I had a supportive community of like-minded women around me

Wanting above all else to be a positive role model to my kids, yet finding myself snapping at them because I had no energy left .

Hi Mama! I’m Ash, a personal trainer specialising in pre-and post-natal exercise and women’s fitness.

Let me tell you my story

After each of my pregnancies, I suffered from abdominal separation - that’s when your six-pack muscles (rectis abdominis) separate from each other during pregnancy and the connective tissue stretches, but doesn’t return to its normal tightness.

Even though this is a very common occurrence during pregnancy, and can be fixed with rehabilitation-style exercise, no one diagnosed me.
So, hoping to lose my post-baby weight, get fit and be a good role model for my children, I joined what was advertised as a ‘mums and bubs’ class.
Here I was, six weeks after a cesarean, being asked to do situps and leg raises, and finding I just… couldn’t.

In fact, I ended up with severe pain in my neck and lower back.
I blamed it on myself, thinking my core strength just wasn’t there.

In reality, the trainer was asking me to injure my body with exercises that were completely unsuited to someone with abdominal separation.

Standard exercise was making it worse.

It wasn’t until I stumbled upon a social media post about abdominal separation that I realised what was going on - I had a serious physical problem that needed a rehabilitation-style training programme to get better.

Armed with the right information, I could now exercise in a way that fixed my problem, strengthening my deep core from the inside out - and become fitter and stronger in the process.
Determined to help mums who were in the same boat as I was, I got my personal training certification, followed by Safe Return to Exercise After Pregnancy credentials - and I’m always learning more about women’s fitness, health and hormones.
Having helped many mamas find their way back to fitness, strength and a positive mindset, I know women often have different fitness needs - before, during and after pregnancy.
That’s why you need exercise from a trainer specialising in women’s pre and post-natal fitness that will empower, energise and strengthen you - from the inside out.
(It’s best to get a pre- and post-natal check done at your local women’s physio for diagnosis.)

“Ash helped me realise how strong I am.
Working out with Ash twice a week in the park or at my home feels like meeting with a good friend who always has your back and helps you reach the potential you didn’t even know was inside you.
I came to Ash wanting to get stronger and help balance my hormones before pregnancy, so I wanted someone who specialised in working with women.
I’d seen a ‘gym bro’ personal trainer once before and it felt like he was trying to kill me on my first session - I couldn’t walk for a week! Needless to say, I never went back.

Ash is different. She understood exactly where I was at.
Starting from a place that was doable for me, I was surprised how quickly my strength and fitness improved week by week.

What’s more, she’s very empathetic and the greatest cheerleader - always pushing me that little bit extra, while helping me stay mentally positive.

She even has me being proactive by doing my training programme by myself once a week - not something I ever thought I’d have the discipline to do, but Ash’s training programme and motivation makes working out feel totally doable - and even fun!”
